every time i make a tight turn, my 04 gtp starts making this awful whining noise thats fairly loud and gets louder when i turn the wheel. the whine sounds sort of like an electric motor. if i stop moving, the whine stops, but when i accelerate it comes back. it goes along with the speed of the engine and not the speed of the car. though it usually goes away after 5 or 10 minutes, its very annoying and a little concerning. anyone have any idea what this is?

    Check power steering fluid level.

And check trans fluid level while motor/trans is hot.

Well to start, have you checked your power steering fluid level(and color)?

Depending on the mileage of your car, I would try flushing the system first.
Not trying to get off topic but that is my favorite color of 04+ gps.

Well this how-to I wrote should get you started with flushing the power steering system. Series II and III should be almost the same.
