Hello viewers, I'm Ryan and I have a MAJOR issue going on with my mom's GTP.. About 1-2 months back, her balljoint went when I was making a run to Dunkin' Donuts in town, and ended up having the car towed back to my house. I put the new balljoint in and there still seems to be problems. After the balljoint was done, I had to put a new wheel bearing in because my family was banging the old wheel bearing with a sledge :\ .. When I drove it for the first time, it seemed fine but then a couple days later, it started acting up again... It seems that something is allowing the wheel to angle during turns. For example, performing a left turn at say 25 mph around a corner, the car will jump in that direction and when the wheel straightens out again, it seems fine for a moment then the wheel angles back and the whole car jumps in the other direction causing you to have to counter-steer it to straighten it otherwise it's gonna go off the road. Basically the brand new wheel bearing is now shot >:| . Now lets start here, I had some issues with things after the first initial break from the balljoint. The new balljoint came with bolts bigger than the stock holes which meant the holes had to be widened to fit but the bolts are upside down and 2/3 are in because the 3rd wouldn't go in .. I don't think that's my problem because the other 2 are secure. Both boots on the axle have ripped, the one that connects to the tranny sliced after the balljoint was done and the other boot exploded onthe way to get the new bearing and grease shot EVERYWHERE . That was because with the old bearing shot and completely split into 2, I was forced to drive down to Advanced and back like that .. Wasn't fun! .. When the weight of the car was down, it seemed as if nothing was supporting anything: the rotor was rubbing the caliper, the axle boot was rubbing the control arm, etc (big mess) .. Now with the new bearing on its way out, the same issue but a little different: with the weight of the car down, everything is pushed up AGAIN, this time the caliper is rubbing the rim! Can someone please help me because I have motor problems to fix and this needs to get done first.. This is our own car/daily driver; we both use it everyday! The more it gets driven the worse it gets! I don't know where to go from here, no shop wants to look at it.. Sorry about no pictures yet but I'm at school and my laptop has no pics, if someone can give me a basic idea until I do get pics and tell me what they think .. She doesn't want to get rid of the car but I am beginning to think that may be our only option!

It sounds to me like the axle is either bad or not seated right.

I'm thinking that partially bolted balljoint is a start. Without a third..it might be able to bend the metal at the end of the control arm. Also the strut and tie rod are potential areas to be looked at.

No shops will look at it? You are about a half hour south of Hartford. I'm in Hartford daily.. might be able to swing by and take a look.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
