Are you talking about blue poly moog or black rubber ones?

Tire choice has more affect on unsprung weight than sway bar selection does.

I can't argue much, as I might have put 12 months and 6000 miles on them at most.

I agree, however if you want to argue that it's worth more money over? It's not. The value isn't there.

But luckily they still make the GMPP bars.

Highest stress during bending and torsion occurs at the periphery of the bar. No need for material in the middle as it basically just adds mass. Diameter is what matters more.

When I went looking for my leaky brake line I found that my sway bar had broken too -_- got it for $90 at Advance Auto Parts cause I had a $20 off coupon all I had to buy was a flashlight and some PB Blaster to use the coupon ($20 off any purchase over $100) that coupon couldn't have came in more handy :-) and if anybody's curious it helps to soak the sway bar bolts in PB Blaster a few times and overnight before you try to take it off. My sway bar end links didn't want to come apart easy so I had to use a sawzall to cut the bolts.
