Temporarily stop rear brakes from squealing?

Hey guys. Last weekend I did my front pads /rotors etc. All is good...

This week the rears are squealing (only with foot OFF brake. Probably rust or something in there. Anyways its driving me crazy and don't have time today to do the rears.

Any tips on making them quiet for a couple days until I get time to do them? I checked the pads and I don't see the squeally bar thing on the pads (would have just snipped them off if I did).

Any thoughts?

the squealers maybe on the inside pad and you can t see them well. if your changing them in a few days, and you clearly still see some pads left, drive it and just turn up the radio. then replace the pads.

I pulled off the wheel and slipped the pads off and couldn't see a squealer on the inside pad either.... I'll check again just because I'm gonna switch the rear wheels from one side to another before I leave today.... Trying to isolate whether I have a noisy rear passenger wheel bearing or if it's just the tire which has gotten really loud and annoying.

Funny how it never ends. Car is looking mint, wheels, lowered on gxp springs.... Now everyone looks but not sure if it's cause it looks nice or if it's the annoying squealing hahahahaha.... etc etc. It's an 07 GT SE btw.

lol yeah i hate that.

if they are real low on pad they could just be vibrating in the caliper. some pads just dont have the metal squealers, sometimes people take them off during install.

id just let it go for the few days till you get the new pads in. if something is squealing still after the new pads, you know to look deeper.

My best suggestion since you don't have time to do the rear brakes is not to drive the car. That'll keep them quiet and keep you from spending an hour replacing them.

Yes..I am being serious and not a wise guy.

Any suggestions like trimming the tabs etc .. would take about as long as doing the brake job.

Soak the rotor and pads in brake cleaner. I'm not sure if that's the proper way but worked for me. Stopped the squealing for a couple weeks then I replaced pads n rotors.

Wait, if you pulled the pads out to check for the squealer why didn't you just change the pads?

im going with low funds. he did say hes doing them in a few days. sounds like pay day is around the corner lol.

Lol thanks guys. Reason being is I'm waiting it out a week cause I'm going to do a wheel bearing at the same time. Single father, 3 young kids, away for the weekend now and starting my deck on Sunday lol. No time. Going to order parts online for rear brakes and rotor job etc

Anyways long story short I fixed the noise earlier today. Pulled wheel, and turned rotor by hand and sprayed a bunch of brake cleaner in there. No noise and just did about 120 kms...
