So I redid all of my front brakes three months ago. Full set up. New calipers, new ceramic pads from oreillys. Ever since then I get a squeak when I push on the brakes. I have been researching the brake sections and read thru the big bad brake forum. I lobed everything up very well with synthetic brake stuff in the packets. Any more ideas for the squeak? And the dust guard is not rubbing the rotor. First thing I checked. Also the squeak is worst in morning when dew is on them

Likely its just your brake pads.

I get a squeak from my rear brakes for the first 1-3 times I hit the brakes.

Is it cause their ceramic? The old ones which were the original factory didn't squeak but the left nasty brake dust on everything. And yes it pretty much is for the first few times I push brakes. Where all are the proper places to put the synthetic lube stuff?

Maybe its the material, I'm not an expert on it.

I'm sure the weather, being damp, type of pad and rotor come into play, but I wouldnt even worry about it.

And when I do brake jobs, I only grease the caliper bolts/pins and the slides that the pads run on. I never grease the back of the pads.

Will do. I guess that squeak is something to live with then.

Try different pads, I used to have the golds from advance auto and they made horrible noise. Went back, got the $12 silver line pads, no more noise.

Its all good now...old thread sorta. Ended up having the brand new rotors resurfaced to remove that first super thin layer and that fixed the noise

FWIW, my ceramics are pretty noisy until I stop with them a couple times.
