So as of last week I can feel my ABS activate when I'm braking and I have the wheel turned. It happens both when the wheels are turned right or left, and it happens whether it's wet or dry outside. Does this maybe sound like a loose connector at the hub? I haven't had the time yet to look. In the back of my mind I'm worrying that it's the ABS module but then again I get absolutely no warning lights. Sometimes when I'm backing out of my driveway and I'm turning the wheels to straighten them out, the DIC flashes "Traction Control Off", but I don't get the light on the gauge cluster telling me that it's off and the traction control stays on.

mine did that before the ABS light and the TCS off light decided to stay on all the time...either one of the hubs are bad or there bad connection and the connections looke fine -_- so so a speed sensor slowly failed and it looks like yours is doing the same

Think it would be worth my time to take it to a dealership to have it scanned? Or since there are no warning lights will they not be able to tell me anything?

I thought I had this figuered out . I took the ABS plug apart at the hub and I saw that one was real wet inside. SO I took my air compressor and blew it out. Put it back togeather and drove to the store about 3 miles each way and everything was good. Then went to another store again about 3 miles each way and it did it to me while pullong back into my driveway. What the crap. I will drive it again tomorrow and see what happenes.

Did anyone ever get this figured out? Mine is doing the exact same thing and driving me crazy. As an aside, it doesn't seem to affect the abs system when you NEED it to kick in, so I guess we should be thankful for small miracles. I'm going to start tearing stuff apart this weekend.

I disconnected my ABS sensor on my left tire the one that was acting up and it seems fine now except my ABS and trac contol no longer works. I was going to try a NewHub cause that is where the speed sensor is.

This is almost always the cause.

Do you guys hear the clicking at startup? For about a year now mine has just started making noise at startup plus the other symptons when doing low speed braking, or braking before a turn has been going on for the past 4 or 5 years. Seems to be getting worse and more frequent No abs light has ever come on excepted when unplugged the module to see what was causing the sound.

I refuse to believe that's related to abs/bearings. Post up a video of the sound in a new thread and we'll all hop on and try to figure it out.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

No chance it's the abs sensor then? I had to replace my hubs a few years ago, I hate re-replacing things.

Now... I'm a few beers and a dozen jello shots into my afternoon... but I'm almost certain that's not a part.

more specifically part #24202393, Vehicle speed sensor reluctor wheel. it's listed in most of the part drop down trees as a part of the wheel hub assembly and they're generally under $10. has anyone tried this? I've just disconnected the front right wheel speed sensor for the time being, but that ABS has saved the day before and for ten bucks and a few hours I'd dig into my unemployed drinkin' money to get her working properly.

crunk, I think that goes inside your differential, for the vehicle speed sensor. You don't service the ABS sensors nor rings, they come inside new hubs.

My ABS light and TCS lights used to come on all the time and I was waiting until I had the money to fix it! Now that I have the money I have no lights on at all!!! But I did notice backing out of my driveway that it felt like there was something rubbing when I had the wheel turned all the way. I have been told that I need a new wheel hub assembly and that I should do both! Does it matter if I buy a non "OEM" part? I keep seeing a bunch on line way cheaper than OEM or even Delco pars!

Aha, I see. Thanks rock, that's exactly what I was looking for.

David, I purchased non-OEM hubs as the originals seemed to have been damaged by me and 40,000 miles later the passenger side one is having this issue. There are US, Korean and Chinese made hubs. Having lived in China for nine months and having witnessed firsthand the way things operate there let me advise very strongly against purchasing Chinese made wheel hubs.
