I have an 2008 GXP and I got the dreaded ABS/Traction and Stablity Control Lights and service indicators. I had the code read and showed the right front wheel abs sensor was the fault. I had it replaced and still had the issue.
I noticed that sometimes I would drive and the lights would not come on, but as soon as I hit a bump, the lights would come one. As the days went on the lights would stay on longer, until the point where they would come on as I rolled out of the garage.
I went back to have the codes read again (AutoZone), figuring another sensor went bad and it again said the right front sensor was the issue.
I did a bunch of research and found that there was a problem with the way some of the wiring harnesses were attached and the supension travel would damage them. I decided to check mine and found out the fix was done and a new plug was spliced in. The wire tube was cut, but it was all wrapped in tape. I undid all the tape and got to the splice and tugged on the brown wire and it pulled from the splice easily.
I decided to cut out the splices and redo them with new wire. I re-wrapped everything and no more lights. Today I rode into work (12 miles) and still no lights. Looks like that was the cause.
The best I can tell is the suspension travel evenutally caused a break in the splice. The splice was done with some hard material, about an inch long, I haven't seen before. The break was right at end of the splice and probably cause by fatigue in the wire from the suspension travel. This would also explain why bumps had an effect on the warning lights.
