im looking into some lowering springs and was wondering which ones were better w/ Gabriel Struts from autozone? reason i ask is because i can afford either spring but cant afford the adjustable KYB struts

idk about running lowering springs on those struts. just like any wbody strut, gabriels will be prone to shorter lifespan.

going back to the springs tho, it really depends on your drop. ssc's tend to have even drop w/ no ass sag (iirc its 1.5in), eibachs lower nice and low and a tiny bit more in the front. (iirc 2.0in or so).

based on spring specs and the fact that eibach are progressive springs, eibachs should technically ride better in comparison to the linear springs that SSC are. they will also be lower. so long as your bump stops are trimmed accordingly they are a better all around spring for LOWERING. SSC will be better for performance. they are a linear spring and have higher spring rates.

If you want it to look lowered, go with B&G or Eibach...either give plenty of drop.

I chose Springtechs. From my measurements they lowered the rear a little over an inch and the fronts about 1.75 in.

Riding on stock struts, they aren't terrible. I would get GR2s anyway, they'll probably be cheaper than the parts store struts for a set. I'll probably get some after I get some other stuff figured out. Cut the front bumpstop/isolator down about an inch though, and get new strut mounts.

Also, leave some money in your budget to leave room for other little suspension things that may be worn. I ended up replacing three wheel bearing/hub assemblies, both tie rod ends, sway bars and end links, strut mounts, now ball joints, and trailing arms. These cars are getting up there in age now and these things do wear out.

I installed SSC springs with KYB GR-2's late last month. Here is a photoshoot I took on May 1st, giving you lots of angles of the spring stance after ~1-1.5k miles passed.

FWIW I think Four Sixer is looking to sell a set of Ebaichs as soon as he can get a set of Vogtlands
