Alright drunkie.. i have been looking into a rear setup besides the gxp and i have some questions you might know the answer to lol... ok so what is the main obstacle in doing the cts-v rear calipers?.. if were to do the rear with them and a 13" rotor.. do you think there would be to much rear bias?
Getting a bracket made wouldnt be a problem if they wont bolt up properly... also i found a rotor that has the correct width 1.10" for the cts-v calipers and correct 5x115 bolt pattern. Do you think there is something here or not??
I first thought would be the E-brake.
2nd. Then you need to make sure they have the right offset.
I do know the rear STS and CTS calipers look very smiler to the GXP's. Just dont know if there bracket will bolt up.

Ya those front rotors are made by Brembo i believe... but anywau the e-brake isnt a problem since i wouldnt be utilizing it anyway.. i think within the 5 years of owning the car i have used the e-brake maybe 2-3 times lo.. if i were doing the gxp conversion too i was not going to use it..
First problem
-you need a GXP hub and relocated e-brake
Second Problem
-Does the caliper even boltup to the rear knuckle? If yes cool, if not, okay now you need custom brackets, not the end of the world; but do you extend the caliper out or do you shift it right or left to keep it within a reasonable distance from the center of the hub. When you do the left or right option, you have now shifted where the caliper postion, eliminating its effectiveness in a way because calipers are positioned in certain spots for a reason.
Third problem:
-Find a rotor, the OEM CTS-V rotor is 365mm, but does the knuckle bolt-up int he same place, maybe you need a different size rotor. Good luck on that hunt.

-Master brake cylinder

-Can the rotor handle an in hub e-brake application?
There is a reason why the 4th gen F-body guys never bothered.
12" vented rotors with the GXP is enough IMO. If you so feel inclined to do the hub swap and e-brake fix.
There is no fifth gen F body.
At least I got something right :)
I forgot to mention, I don't redrill rotors. EVER. First off they are designed in a such a way that where the holes are, are balanced Correctly so the rotor goes around and doesn't wobble. 2nd it weakens the rotors. I'll drill out the center bore but that is about it.
Ya i was wondering about that... i was working with the manufacturer that i got my front rotors from.. trying to see if they would make them with the correct bolt pattern but they said they had no way bc their programs were OEM specs.. blah blah.. so asked for a blank cause i can CNC my own bolt pattern they were hesitant about it.. then manager said no ... im still trying to work out whether this whole thing is doable

From what I read about F-body's doing the CTS-V swap on LS1tech they had to do some work to get around the issue a c-clip axle produces. Namely, the issue caused is the axle moving in and out slightly as part of it's normal operation. A floating caliper can tolerate this movement because it works on slide pins. A fixed caliper on the other hand clamps down from both sides, with the expectation of course that the disc is going to stay where it is. Plus the rear is extremely sensitive to brake upgrades. I want to say that running the same pad compound with the multi-piston calipers without altering the proportioning caused the rears to lock too early. Then they had some issues with the wheel speed sensors and ABS system.
Alright i will prob just go the gxp route then, i want to do something the rear just looks funny now with the stock 10" lol

Got just about everything. Waiting on Hub centric rings for the rims to make up for the offset and the CTS-V caliper Bolts from the dealer.

why for did you get the same wheels? sad face.
Because I spent money on the Charger Rims which by measurement were supposed to work but didn't. I did not feel like blowing money trying to figure out which other rims may or may not work.
spacers are always a solution. :)
