So, lately for the last few weeks when I turn my car right the Trac off light comes on as well as the ABS light on the cluster. When this happens I lose all ABS ability. When it does happen I can pull over, shut off the car and everything will be fine. There is no noise coming from the front of the car except for when I pull out of my underground parking and turn right to go out the door, I can hear what sounds like rubbing. Almost as if the wheel was having trouble rotating. This only happens when I start up in the morning and turn right. Otherwise under normal driving there is no rubbing sound at all.

    Thanks.

Sounds like it's time for a hub assembly. The speed sensors are built into the hub assembly and when a speed sensor goes bad, or the wiring to it gets damaged, it will cause the ABS and Trac lights to illuminate. Trick is, figuring out which one is bad. I would start at the one making the rubbing sound. You can test the speed sensors with an ohmmeter. Unplug the wires going to the speed sensor out by the hub assembly. Next, put the test leads of the ohmmeter on the two wires in the plug that is attached to the hub assembly, not on the side of the plug running towards the engine compartment. With the car's wheels off the ground, spin it and you should see the ohm resistant fluctuate up and down. If you get no reading or there is no fluctuation, the sensor is bad. If they all test fine, then you will have to start looking over the wires that run to them.

The sensor is basically a magnet and as each tooth on the reluctor wheel inside the hub pass the magnet, it causes the change in the resistant. The PCM reads these pulses and without them, it can't detect the wheel speed at that wheel to properly operate the traction control or ABS system, which causes them to become disabled.

    Good luck

Alright. Well, it looks like I have a project for this weekend.

Thanks for giving me an idea of where to start Abrasive. I appreciate it.
