I have a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GT with 64,000 miles on it. I have been experiencing this popping on the front end of my car for quite a while now, and I am so ready for it to be fixed. So when do I hear this popping? If I am at a complete stop and I start to take off, I will hear a pop that sounds like it is coming from the drivers side front. I can also get this pop when applying the brakes to slow down or just by driving down the road and I happen to hit a dip/crack in the road. Most of the time, it is usually just one pop, but sometimes it may acutally create a pop,pop or pop, pop, pop. (I know it's hard to describe these through text.) Recently, I have noticed that I will hear this pop just from starting up my engine. Here's the deal. I have taken my car to two different Midas', and a Dobbs Tire center, and they can't pinpoint exactly what the problem is. They do hear the noise while the car is on the ground, however when it is on the lift, they can't duplicate the problem. They claim that everything on the front end seems to be tight and doesn't appear that anything is needing replaced. If this helps, I have had new struts, strut mounts, wheel bearings, and my drivers side caliper all replaced recently, but the popping still exists. I also had someone check on my cradle bolts and motor mounts and he claimed that they appear to be fine. What do you think could be causing this popping, or what do you think I need to check next? I would really like to solve this issue as soon as I can. I appreciate any advice or help you may have!
