squirt some powerblaster on them and let it soak in for a day or so. you said you got the nuts off but cant get the bolts out? put the nuts back on until they are fluch with the end of the bolts and then hit it with a hammer that shoudl get them out
thanks..
they are probably just stuck because its on a moving part, i agree hit it with something
Yes, the bolts holding your control arm to the strut need to be hammered out. There are lines on the bolt near the head to prevent any movement whatsoever while assembled. It'll take 15-20 solid hammer drops to break them loose. I'd recommend putting some Never-Seize on them to help in the future.
Pb blaster BFH to shock the bolt and a impact Mine came out no prob with a 1/2 inch snap on impact
Cant wait to replace my struts now =D
its not bad just hit em with blaster and wait a lil bit
Biggest thing is using an impact on em
Oh i know they dont spin out I was talking the actual nuts
once you break the nut back it of till its a little over flush with the bolt and pound it out
the bolts are splinned so u can take the nut off without bolt spinning. after you get the nut off u pound them out make sure u dont mess up the threads, i use a brass hammer cus it wont damadge any threads![]()
thanks for all the info guys... car will be lowered this weekend
It looks like the top bolt is not the oem bolt. If you hit that one you risk damaging the threads and may cross-thread the nut when you re-assemble
Use a brass drift if you have one. Just don't go pounding any bolts. If you don't have a brass drift use a large centering punch.
