and about the vibration upon acceleration, is this a problem that can cause damage or is it mostly just annoying?
Remove the bolt at the top of the strut and flip the bearing to the bottom if you want, just as long as there are bearings. Spray them with white lithium grease while your at it, you will need it.

Lift the engine with VinnieGTP Spacers and the acceleration is reduced greatly, there is a little bit at hard acceleration.

    Hey Drunkie
So in post #217, you have a laundry list of things that would be ideal to do; is that what you did with the car in post #273? I like that stance brah

I'm after something similar.....maybe an inch higher though. Been following this forum sporadically, so a little help is most appreciated.

leave it stock if you want a decent ride. no offense, but lowering springs all ride rough. all of them.

then again, rough is a relative term. i like it, most people dont.

^This, But I think the mild drop springs 1-1.7 inches or so usually aren't a pain in the rear

I am on a full set of coilovers to get the stance, which allows me to choose my ride height. I am a firm believer in replacing everything in the suspension department if you plan to do a drastic drop or just get the most out of a vehicle. Bushings/Rubber wear out.

2" drop is alot and no springs really offer that except intrax, when paired with the bilsteins. SSC's are a good drop on the GXPs, but your ride will not be anything like stock it will be firmer albeit rougher

So I've read all 16 pages of this thread, which has been informative but I am looking for a specific bit of info. I am wondering if anyone has lowered on the compG struts and if so how long did they last? One person says they cope well, another implies they are no better than base struts, but both were very vague. Great info on the other options though!

My CompG is at 110k miles, all stock, and I'm sure the struts are gone. I am on a tight budget but I want to get some better handling out of this thing and was thinking a small drop (DNA) on new CompG struts. I dont race, I just have a long drive to work on a very windy road.

new struts should last a good 50k miles on a set of springs that doesnt dump the car. that's just a guess.

    No idea lol.

I forget when its something/topic I know little about.

But it seems some kyb's with some ssc springs would do me good.

I had some coilovers made for me from a guy on the ontario forum. But i cant lower thr car and get rid of the ugly wheel gap!!!
I ajust them to be low enough to have barely one figure gap with my 245/45/17's but dam i can drive it!! Keeps bottoming out the struts!
What can i do?? I may return them to him if i cant have my car that low... can i go that low on zzps or intense coilovers without bottoming the struts??
