Re: Want to lower your car? Look in here!!
Running DNA springs. Not too happy with them. With the 18 inch rims the car is bone jarring. Also not good for handling as that rake makes the car bouncy in the rear and feels like it unsettles the front around uneven pavement. Also the springs are greatly affected by weather. When warm they are noticeable softer than when the weather is cold. Had them for about 2 years and 12k miles and they are rusting noticeably. Pretty much just good for looks otherwise junk. You get what you pay for.
Re: Want to lower your car? Look in here!!
Well they are $85 springs so you may be expecting to much plus your struts could also be a contributing factor. I'm still running DNA have been for awhile now on stock struts.. No rust. I hate how the rears aren't low enough but at the end of the day they were just $85 and handling was improved white a bit

Awesome! "Hey look, a lowering thread, maybe it'll have the answers I need"
Yup. Comp-G struts + 97-03 DNA springs = Doable.
Re: Want to lower your car? Look in here!!
Very double but unless your strapped for cash..spend the extra $125 and get SSCs they lower the rear more and doesn't give the retarded take that DNAs tend to do.

Thanks, I looked at the SSC option but I still went with the DNA springs. Personally I like the slightly forward canted look and the rear launch-squat that would come with it.
Anyone that doesn't get what I mean, if you've never seen a GTP launch, it squats in the rear like a dog with worms dragging it's butt on the carpet :P so I welcome the slightly higher rear springs.
Re: Want to lower your car? Look in here!!
It is called reverse rake...and we all hate it.
Re: Want to lower your car? Look in here!!
I am going with the Eibach springs, only a 1" drop for those. Are the engine spacers really necessary for only 1" of drop? I got the pogo washers, and the top strut mounts on my car are trashed already so those are getting replaced either way. New LCA's are lighter (yes?) and will solve the bushing issue, then I'm going to get the upgraded front and add the rear sway bar. Anything else glaringly wrong with that? I might have left something out...
Re: Want to lower your car? Look in here!!
they're gonna drop closer to 2-2.5". promise you that.
Re: Want to lower your car? Look in here!!
Re: Want to lower your car? Look in here!!
haha that's funny ^^^
Would engine spacers really help everything out or are they more a waste of money? I'll be putting my springs on soon and if I can save my axles some I'd like to.

When you drop the car engine slides lower, its super noticeable (like on my car) and it does cause acceleration vibrations. Shot my 160k mile axles in less than a year, the new ones are fine, i am yet to throw shorter dog bones since IDGAF about the car so much as to get the engine/tranny spacers. But yes, they are the proper way of doing this and they are worth the money.
Re: Want to lower your car? Look in here!!
Ok, then here's another one ... I'm doing this on a GTP. How far can you go with this before you need hood spacers? Has there ever been clearance issues with the SC?

Thanks I'll grab some for the engine and tranny then. The springs I have will drop about 1.5" front and 1" rear. How many do you think I'd need to order?
Re: Want to lower your car? Look in here!!
Which springs? do you have aftermarket hood? If yes get half-sized spacers from vinny.
Re: Want to lower your car? Look in here!!
I am planning on the SD hood from PFYC.com or something like that. Would you mix the half size spacers and the shorter dogbones to get enough space? The Eibachs are only supposed to give 1" of drop so I wasn't planning to do much, but someone said it's 2" ~ 2.5"...
Re: Want to lower your car? Look in here!!
Dont mix dogbones with spacers. Half spacers are fine for aftermarket hoods, itll clear. Eibachs drop 2", dont believe the label. Only brand of springs for our cars that drops 1" is Vogtlands.

WBS springs and no aftermarket hood. I'm na too i probably have more hood clearance then a sc car.
Re: Want to lower your car? Look in here!!
I'm lowered about 2" and I'm not running spacers and have no issues at all
Re: Want to lower your car? Look in here!!
No acceleration vibration ? I call bs
Sent from my Nexus 4

No spacers no vibrations on my coilovered Gxp my 97 gtp with SSC never had those vibrations either.
