So I was just quoted $1022.00 for a brake job on my 2000 GP. That includes all new rotors and all new loaded calipers with pads... Oh and I need a new brake line. The original reason I brought the car in.. and yes I am sure all of this needs to be done.. He told me they can probably use the old calipers but for another $200.00 I thought just to put new ones on..

    Thoughts?

Other things I need fixed are the rear window motor/ A/C and who knows what else..

Is the brake line that needs replacing the passenger front?

Well they ARE doing four calipers, rotors, pads, and a brake line, if this is the dealer, then thats probably a good deal for dealer prices. If the brake line is the passenger front, I hear its a b*tch to match the factory routing.

I just did rotors and pads all around for 260. That's with ceramic pads. Front calipers are 35 a piece for my 04. Rears can't be that much. They must be selling you some platinum brake lines

So the brakes went out on the car. When I poured brake fluid in it came out from under the engine, against the back wall. Literally poured out..

    So
    Fix brake line: $189.00
New fully loaded calipers with pads and brand new rotors for front:$348
New fully loaded calipers with pads and new rotors for rear: $386
Total is $$923.00 I think the other charge is for an oil change and something else..

So I am slao having the trans flushed and new filter: $150.00
    New power steering fluid:$50.00
    New window motor:$340.00

and I need to get an estimate for the AC... I can only hope....

yes by the firewall.. I couldn't get under the car to really look up there though.. It didn't look like it was coming from the master cylinder..

they told me the master cylinder was fine.. Could it be the brake line coming off that?

    I know nothing about cars..

Anything else I shoud replace? plugs and wires? Its a 2000 with 45K miles..

I hope this is the last of the big expenses...

You should be fine with plugs and wires for at least another 15-30k miles if not more - you can always check them - its easy to see if plugs need a replacement. (my car is on the second set right now and im close to hittin 140k)

Thats shop prices it sucks but its reality Id get a few quotes as far as the brake fluid pouring out that seems weird if you wernt using the brake it shouldnt have poured out unless its the master cylinder
