Hi, I just got my '01 gp gt about a couple months ago and love it!

When I first start the car up and start moving I hear a kind of grinding noise which I assume is the abs, I had a cavalier that did the same thing. I didn't think much about it, lately it is like the abs has been coming on when I hit the brakes on dry pavement, none of the wheels are sliding and its the same noise as when I first start the car up. The abs light has never come on in the car, though I was letting it warm up the other day before work for a few min, when I came out and got in the car the low trac light was on, I put it in gear and it went off.

From what I've read this could be a bad sensor and would have to change the whole hub for the wheel? How do I tell which one is bad? I was thinking of taking the fuse out....I'm not a big fan of it anyway but will I loose my tcs too?

    -Ryan.

was the tac dead as well? if it was thats a sign that the crank position sensor may be on its way out...

Sorry, but I don't know what the tac is, I tried doing a search for it but nothing came up.

It was the low trac light, the tach was working with the low trac light on. The low trac light only comes on when the car is sitting idleing for a few minutes, I just put it in gear and start driving and it eventaully goes out, the same if one of my front wheels were spinning.

It only seems to happen if I am driving slow, like in a parking lot, 10 km/hr. It is pretty annoying, it has done it 5 times tonight in a 3 minute span.

    Thanks for any help.

Just a shot in the dark, but could that be the speed control sensor?
try pulling your two front tires of and cleaning the sensors maybe...
    (not too sure) ne1 else?

I'm going to pull the front brakes off this weekend to see why they are squeeling, I'll clean up the sensors while I'm there and see if that makes any difference........anybody else have any ideas?
