How many of you would be willing to buy a modded stock control arm. These control arms would be stock but all seam welded, Moog ball joint, front bushing modded (bearing type), rear stock bushing, and then powder coated black.

I would want at least 2 people running them so they can post their feedback (they would get them at my cost). My goal is to get them for around $300-$350 built, or I can supply the parts and you can do the work for around $250.

I'm going to the machine shop in the next day or so to give me an estimate.

These would be an intermediate between zzp's and stock. I want to see how much interest their is before I start buying parts and doing a bunch of leg work.

How would these compare to say the Wbody store's performance control arms?

front bushing isn't stock rubber or aftermarket polyurethane. Its a metal bearing which cuts down the deflection of the control arm when you launch hard. This helps prevent torque steer and helps to promote better tire wear.

These will probably be most similar to Ron Vogels old control arms/wbodystore control arm they use to offer.

I'd definitely be interested in purchasing and testing a set as I'm in the market for some new control arms as it is since my control arm bushings and balljoints are shot.

I'd get a set! I've always wanted a set of W-body store control arms. I would probably want to supply my own ball joint though, I'd get Moogs from OReillys and the only reason I'd want them is to have control of the lifetime warranty myself.

Thought I'd update this post and let you guys know that everythings looking pretty good right about now with these modded control arms. I'm shooting for the $300 price mark right now for both control arms, but I might be a tad bit over. I've bought a bunch of bearing assemblies and have a few sets of control arms so I'll be taking care of those shortly. These would have a bearing assembly up front to prevent control arm deflection under load, rear bushing is a poly bushing, and then moog ball joints.

Right now my local machine shop will be doing a bunch of machining which you'll all see shortly. I'm going in monday to try a bit of negotiating on the parts I need machined up. I need him to come down about 40% in his labor costs. I've found another place that will go 50% lower on the mahine costs, but they need 25 day lead time. Where as this place can have it done with two days of getting the order.

For those of you that are interested, let me know so I can try to get the machine costs as low as possible. I would need your control arms as cores once you installed mine of course.

Once I get these built, I'll need to establish myself as a vendor here. Anyone have any good names LOL

I'm having them powder coated so I could have them coated in different colors. I was trying to stay with only black, but I'm assuming your interested in red. I'm sure I could do that, depending if I get enough people of each the price will probably be the same. If your the only one for that color it might be a tad bit more.

By the time that you get these built I might have enough saved up for a pair. I noticed that my front joints are starting to tear and new ball joints wouldn't hurt at all. I'll be keeping an eye on these for the future.

Sounds good so far . Hopefully you can get the machining costs down, that would be sweet.

I should hopefully have some ready by end of next week. Waiting on materials to get here. Then dropping off at machine shop.

For a heads up, the parts might not be done by friday, but theirs a possiblity they will be. So Pictures should be in by next week.

My materials should have been here monday, but were delayed and are scheduled to be here this friday. So machine shop might not have time to run them but will have them done for sure early next week.

Now here is the dilemma, I need to think of a name (company name) to represent me making them. The other issue was that I had to run a HUGE batch to get the pricing needed to make them relatively affordable. I charged a few Thousand dollars to a credit card which means I want to move these parts kind kind of fast. Or I might open another credit card with 0% APR so I won't be charged a 9% APR on these parts.

As far as selling these parts, I was thinking about selling them here on this forum as a vendor since the monthly fee is affordable. The other option was to have ZZP as a middle man and offer them to ZZP and have them sell them on their site. The other option was Wbodystore, but ZZP does a lot more volume than wbodystore.

    Edited for Picture

I have a few more ideas for parts that should be pretty cool which will be comming out as well.

any update on these? I've messaged Ron Vogel 100 times asking for information on his LCAs but he never once responded.

I wanted to make a pair myself and any information would be appreciated.
