According to what I can find out, the total end-to-end length of the rack in both the '00 Regal and '04 GTP is 49.75", while my '02 GTP is showing 48.75", so doesn't look like it will fit for me. Seems to me they would all be the same, GM is known for re-using parts out of the corporate parts bin.

Is there less turning of the wheel because the GXP rack is stronger? Does it maybe provide more hydraulic pressure because it comes from a heavier vehicle? We all know the stock racks are garbage. I wonder how much more durable a GXP rack would be.

I will be doing the rack on my 2000 GTP in the next week or so. I was thinking if I buy the GXP rack on RockAuto, and then ship back my GTP core, will they give me a hard time and say I'm pulling shenanigans? Resulting in me loosing $100. Maybe this is something I can pull off easier at a store at the counter.

if you know what makes a rack work, you'd know its just a different gear ratio used. cant see this .25 of a turn helping much really.

back in the day if you swapped a quick ratio steering box you went from like 5 turns or so to 3.0 ish lock to lock, you had a noticeable difference.

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

they should be the same the only vehicle I could see having a different rack would be the G & H bodies and those have completely different mounts for the rack.
Double check the part number for the inner and outer tie rod ends and they all seem to cross to the same for me
