A few years ago, my ABS started pulsing when coming to a stop occasionally. It would pulse a little and kinda like losing breaking for just a few seconds, if that. At one point it threw a code when it happened, I think it was ABS but could have been check engine. I pulled into a Chevy dealer and they put their scanner on it and they said it could connect. Recently, it started doing it again, no check engine light. Tonight I put my code scanner on it just to see, figured it wouldn't work since the dealer one didn't. Plugged it in, it connected and everything was fine, worked properly but didn't give me any indication of a problem.

So, what do I do? Judging by the symptoms, I am going to guess that one of my ABS sensors are bad. Is there anyway to test them? Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Any help would really be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    John

if the abs light is on you need a abs scanner to read those. best to get it scanned or you can be tossing money at it guessing.

typical your issue is a bad ebcm, or bad hub. scanning will lead to a clear path to the issue tho.

Not getting an ABS light now, that is what makes it nearly impossible to diagnose. Guess I will run it into the dealership and let them take a whack at it. If I am not getting an ABS light will the an ABS scan say anything?

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

when scanned it will show history of codes that have been set in the past. most shops will clear all codes and see what code comes back first.

Can the ABS be disabled by pulling the ABS fuse until I can get it fixed? I assume that doing that will make the brakes act as traditional brakes.

When you pull the ABS fuse, you also loose the A/C clutch.

If you unplug one of the ABS sensors, you just loose ABS.

In both scenarios, the ABS and TRAC lights will be on all the time.

Because your Regal fuse is in a different spot than the GP fuse. LOL
