Hey

2005 pontiac grand prix gtp-comp g

So i decided to upgrade my deck since i really liked the idea of having bluetooth integrated into my car.

I bought the kenwood ddx392 and got the aftermarket wiring harness to make it all work. I know nothing about car audio but am very comfortable with home audio so i figured it cant be too hard.

The install went alright, it took awhile for me to realize that there was way more wires than i actually needed to connect and once i figured that i just needed to match the head wires to the aftermarket harness it was easy. The problem i am having is the secondary harness i bought to make my steering wheel connections work.

Its a Maestro datalink SW, I spliced the ground and power (Black and Red) but the two other connections make no sense to me because the wires they tell me to splice them to are speaker wires... which i cant think of any reason would make the steering wheel controls work. With this product you have to hook it up to your computer first and flash the firmware for your specific steering wheel... i did that but after that im lost.

I put it all back together and figured ill deal with it tomorrow, the last thing i noticed was everything on my DIC works except under information where it use to tell me the month/date and day of the week it only shows me "----- ----"

I never disconnected the DIC so not sure what thats about. Any insight would be great otherwise i guess ill take it back to where i bought it and see if they can help but they said for them to do the install would be $450 so i am a little hesitant.

Thanks
