Just a few questions, before I commit to actually altering the harness of my car:

    1) Has anybody had better luck pinning the HUD's data wire to the data link (the 1 x 12 connector next to the OBD II port), or does splicing & soldering it in work perfectly?

    2) Will I need the salvage car's BCM, or any BCM that's claimed by application to be for HUD-equipped cars?

    3) If the answer to the last is Yes, how do I perform a security relearn? ...If that's actually needed, that is...

In case anyone was wondering-for the way I just dropped out of the blue on this-I pulled about all of the wiring under the dash, then whittled it all down until I have the HUD pigtail and the dash-to-centre console plug remaining; I even got the five wires for the controller still intact! What I hope to do is use a weather pack removal tool to unpin some of the wires on my stock plug, unpin the scrap wiring (plenty there in case splicing becomes Plan B), then repin the stock leads into the new plug. Same goes for the data feed... though power & ground will have to be spliced!

I spliced the HUD on my 04 into the DIC wiring. No issues, works great. No need for a BCM swap or security relearn.
