reason being is because if you fuse over the size of the wire, then you run the potential of burning up the wire, starting a fire, etc.
your amps fuse/fuses, or your fuse box fuses will take care of themselves and blow when the max current is reached. thats there job. no reason to do the same job twice. (unless your amp does not have any on board fuses, then you will fuse to the necessary amperage the amp will pull.
fyi, 1/0 is rated (usually at max) 300 amps.
How will the Locx improve my sub setup versus the hipass?
Also, Im running a 4 gauge wire from battery to trunk. If I am not mistaken I have a 60 amp fuse by the battery in a 50 in the back. I have a feeling that they are to large but I may be mistaken. What do you think I should run?
Thanks again!

basically it wont really improve anything, using the high pass on your amp does basically the same thing as a loc would. the only way to improve your setup is to buy an aftermarket head unit and install that. that is the best route to go. but your route is not bad, its just not the most ideal.
and 4 guage can carry up to 150 amps of current, so i would recommend that you run one single 150 amp fuse at the battery and forget about the other fuse in the trunk (unless you are stepping down in wire size, or you have a second battery back there)
Re: run the power cable from battery to trunk - FINISHED!! PICS!
Thanks for the info once again.
The only reason why im running the fuse in the trunk is to lower the gauge of the power wire.
4 gauge is too big for my amp. If I am not mistaken, the Alpine i am using is for interior speakers, but does have a 2 channels for subs.
One more question for you. The locx is a two channel to rca. At the moment I am running just one channel to the sub (right stock sub channel to one channel hi pass). Should I run both the left and right stock sub channels into the locx?
Re: run the power cable from battery to trunk - FINISHED!! PICS!
okay, im trying to run my 8 guage wire through the top gromet(the one that you can access from the engine bay. how in the hell am i supposed to fit that wire through that tiny freaking hole. i just got done trying for about and hour and i cant fit the damn thing through. Am i supposed to take out the grommet??

Do you happen to have a picture?
Is the actual hole to small or is it just the grommet. Can you slice the grommet open a little further to get the wire in?

This is the grommet. i tried everything that has already been posted in this thread. is there a trick to it?

Its a 2 piece plug, the plug you want to take out and make the wires go through seperates from the rest of the plug, just pop the center piece out.

And once i do that where will the wire i fed end up? and is this the rubber plug your talking about? i just remove the center?
Re: run the power cable from battery to trunk - FINISHED!! PICS!
Hey, just a suggestion, Try turning your sub box around. My box is allot bigger, but I have always had better luck with bass in every car I've done with the sub facing the back of the car.. try it out... if you like it, let me know!
Re: run the power cable from battery to trunk - FINISHED!! PICS!
yea, ill try that. do you know where that rubber plug feeds too?

Its part of the firewall, it will end up below that other plug you wanted to use and a little closer to the side of the car. I think I was able to reach the plug on both sides with me laying under the door but I'm pretty tall.
Re: run the power cable from battery to trunk - FINISHED!! PICS!
thanks, ill try it tomorow and post if i got it or not
