locations of GRN, the BLU and orange/black tracer

are all 3 heading to the amp? according to that 2nd diagram there is a dk blu for RR low audio+ and a dk GRN for LF low audio - but nowhere for a orange wire?

If I recall, orange is almost always 12 volt positive for audio equipment.

looked up some documents from 12volt.com from alarm systems under that heading they had the pink as ignition which would work for the amp and they also had a orange/black tracer for factory disarm. The plain orange is 12volt all time which is in the larger stereo harness. and 12volts wiring diagrams for the radios are not matching the colours from the factory they need to update a little.
shows right rear having a blu/wht when its black from factory.

yeah thats the one in my picture but thats not the factory 9 pin for the bose system . loooking at and integration harness like this one from PAC http://www.pac-audio.com/productDeta...?ProductId=168
only harness that uses the 9 pin with the 21pin harness

Just as a heads up you do not need that harness. Just hook the remote turn on lead from your aftermarket radio to the pink wire in the amp harness.

Yes and no you need that pink wire from the cd changer harness(9pin) Tried it without it and it did not work any speaker without that pink wire so those bose amps control every speaker in the car. Hooked up that pink wire to the pioneer and everything is mint now. Just finishing up the fiberglass work on the dash/hvac board then i'll post up the pics.

Douger couple more wires i need locations for and where to grab them i need the
(Parking Brake + wire) what colour would that be and would it be in the bcm harness/connector?
(reverse light + on wire) same what colour and wheres the good location for it. Its for the back up camera for the head unit.

Aren't you using a GMOS or similar adapter? If so they're both part of the serial data stream and there'll be a wire for each.

I'd be leery of tapping into BCM outputs. But here are some workarounds you might consider:

On the internet, you can usually find a method of bypassing the parking brake lockout. Sometimes it's as simple as grounding that wire. Other times, it's more complicated.

For the reverse input, you may need to go directly to the PRNDL switch on the transmission. It's underneath the selector lever.

BTW, I powered my camera by tapping into the reverse lights circuit and mounted it centered on the bottom of the reverse/tag lamp assembly. I'm not sure how you could mount yours, and you'd still need to solve your reverse input dilemma.

I'm adverse to tapping into wires on these newer cars with serial data. I'd rather not introduce trouble if I don't have to.

I still have access to GM Service Information, so here goes:

On your 9 pin connector, that is called connector C3 for the radio. The GM part number is 12064980

Pin 7 - PNK - Radio on signal

    Pins 8 and 9 - Not used

Pin 10 - LT GRN - Remote playback device right audio signal

Pin 11 - ORG/BLK - Remote playback device left audio signal

Pin 12 - LT BLU - Remote playback device common signal

    Pins 13-15 - Not used

Facing the business end of the connector, pin 7 is at the right and pin 15 is at the left.

Ahhh makes sense now that 9 pin connector is for the factory Cd 12disc changer that my car does not have so i'am going to assume that the other end of that 9pin connector is in the trunk tied up and was not for the factory bose system at all. good link on it here

    Thanks again douger

I don't have a connector view of the steering wheel control. That's part of the serial data setup.

Yeah probably sends signal voltages for the commands probably exactly how a steering wheel adapter does. Very nice. I see now why when hooking up the aftermarket harness you lose the 2 top speakers in the back of the bose system. 2rear tweeter are only out the 24 amp side

That's different from the Monsoon system I had in my 2005. The amp apparently functioned as the crossover for those tweeters and the ones in the front doors.

I've pretty much ditched the Monsoon. It runs the center dash speaker now. That's where I get my chimes. The rest of the speakers are driven by a Pioneer amp and a Bazooka tube sub. I can't tell you how much happier I am now with the results.
