so i did find a set of infinity 6x9 for a decent price...but should i even fool with replacing them? my old ones are blown, and tend to rattle/vibrate sometimes, which is annoying..or should i cut the wires to them and forget about it? i hear you dont really need them anyway with decent fronts and a sub...

Choice is yours if they're blown or just plain sound lousy then replace them.

put the new speakers in. every one adds sound. new speakers made my stock radio twice as loud, the sub and amp dont hurt either.

Um dont need rear speakers? I woukd say this is false information whoever told you that. Rear speakers are a vital component to a stereo system

i dont mind doing the work, was just wondering if it was worth the effort with the rear panel being somewhat of a pain.im not looking for anything fancy.looks like the reference series infinity's get pretty good reviews and they are 2 ohm. saw some mb quarts as well that looked decent as well..

It's not really a pain the bolts and you got the seats out. Two plastic clips and there is the deck lid

back speaker replacement aint hard at all. hell ive had that damn rear deck cover off countless times now. the back seat has 4 nuts tops, some cars only have 2 holding the back seat back in.

be a good rainy day project.i believe i have to do the old seperate the wires on the monsoon system to get actual highs and lows from the rears. i had to do that in a camaro once years ago with a set of infinitys. sounds terrible if ya dont!

that radio you need to get the same ohm speakers or some crap or they dont sound good at all, or dont even make a sound. theres a bunch of threads about it.

yes,the infinitys are 2 ohm which is what i had in a prior camaro with the monsoon system its kinda sucks trying to seperate the wires needed to make it sound right.i think alot of folks just slap in speakers and they sound horrible and blame the speaker fror the crappy sound! i had to locate the wires for the tweeters and then for the low frequencys, once you do that just splice, solder and tape and it will sound great
