Looking at possibly getting one for the wife as a Christmas present. Leaning towards the Beltronics Vector 955 as the tests/reviews I have read seem to put it on par with the escort 8500. Anyone have this model or have any other recommendations around the $200 price point?

I had an 8500 before my V1. I definitely recommend that as a second choice.

Actually headed to Best Buy tonight for Black Friday sales. Waited in line for 10 minutes to get in the store, picked up the 8500 X50 for $199, was out the door in another 10 minutes. Winning.

Not quite sure. The one on the front and back of the box is red, but I'm not sure if that means anything.

9500ix is by far the best I have used tons a features too.. although the 500$ price tag sucks
