I am needing a radio wiring diagram for a 97-03 style gp. If anyone could post a link here that would be great. I tried using search but i couldnt find anything. Thanks!

Hey Bill,
How come none of the diagram I find any where ever show the other two rear deck speakers only the 6x9"'s? Would love to know how those are wired
I'm assuming one set goes back to the amp, and two come out? Every stereo I've done has just been color to color with the integration harness
ok barnett how do I wire those other two speakers into my head unit or do I need an amp?
This one time, at band camp, I was told of something called Google.....
2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Stereo Wiring Information
Umm at one time I used google and it did not give me the answer I needed as in "your link did not either" been there saw it did not see the wireing for the additional TWO speakers on the rear shelf next to the 6 x 9's which have different colors than the 6x9 FAIL!!! LOL
To be honest I'm not sure because I havent worked with the Bose system you are describing. I have two theories tho.
1.) you need the Bose integration harness
Or
2.) You just color match wires like normal and the one set of wires it has the rear split at the amp that contains all the crossovers and stuff. Because I believe those 5 1/4's and 6x9's act as speakers and separate subs.
Is there more speaker wires at the head unit than just front and rear (4 sets of wires)?
Bronco boy you are redeemed I am going to tell santa to bring you something awesome this year where'd you get that?
barenett does this look like it will work with your color match theory or would you use an amp or what I am looking for cheapest easiest way woul it help if I gave you the head units diagram?
Ah Ha! There you go logan. Its just normal front and rear speaker wires at the headunit. That powers both pairs of rear speakers. However, the amp provides the crossovers for the separate 6x9's and 5.25 subs. So it's all up to if you bypass the factory amp or not.
If it was me, this is what I would do (IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE 5.25's): Wire the aftermarket stereo up like normal, matching each front and rear speaker wire. This wil, if the diagram above is correct, be no problem.. But then if you want more power (aka add amps and get better speakers) it gets different. At that point I wouldn't even worry about the 5.25's at all. There's ways you can do it, by changing out those speakers as well with normal speakers and having more sound from the rear, but that isn't what you want. You want majority of the sound in the front. Think about a concert. The speakers are in front of you, not behind.
That being said, I think the best way is to disregard the 5.25's all together and just replace all the other speakers. The only other option I would consider is putting subs in their place, but in that case I'd do it with the 6x9's. If you're not adding a sub in the trunk this would actually be pretty cool.
Replace the fronts with 6.5" components, the 5.25's with 2 or 3 ways, and getting 6x9 subs. In this case, you would need two amps or a 5 channel to get subwoofer output only out of the 6x9's. With the very helpful wiring diagrams posted, it would be pretty easy to hook up the wires. Keep in mind, when running aftermarket amps, you gotta run RCA's also.
Thanks Barnett
