So i just received my 8400. I didn't notice this before when i purchased it from sonicelectronix but it didn't come with a wiring harness or antenna adapter. So i shot them an email real quick. They hit me back up within an hour and said the harness is like 82$. Alittle about the car its an 06 GP GXP. It has cloth seats and a stock radio with cd player(no navigation). Just from the looks the car is simple nothing extra. The person that had it before probably was pretty cheap, lol. How do I found out if I have the bose/monsoon sound system because I doubt that I do?

For 8,000 with 115,000 i couldn't beat the price!! Ones that were fully loaded wanted 10-12,000.

    You probably do.

Is there a center speaker on the dash? .. If so you have monsoon.

Well I dont have monsoon/bose but have onstar which ill probably never use because I never used it in 02 gtp 40th anny. So guess I gotta spend the 82 in order to keep all my chimes.

You should be able to get your harness for free. It's required to install the radio. Call them personally.

Amazon.com: Metra 40-GM10 GM Antenna Adapter: Car Electronics
Amazon.com: Metra 70-2003 Radio Wiring Harness For GM 98-Up Harness: Car Electronics

i used these two in my base 05 grand prix and have never had any problems... i did lose my chimes however (i find this to be a good thing because i hate the annoying things) and i think i lost my onstar... however i never have even attempted to use it so i couldnt tell you if i did or didnt actually lose it

I dont like to cause a fuss but you really think id be able to get a $100 harness for free? it was 82 after some discount they gave me.

Using a basic harness like u did my radio would cut off when I take the key out and I like having the radio play until I open the door.

You could check ebay for the GMOS-01 harness and pay anywhere from $35-$120 for one

I'm telling you It has no leather/suede seats kind of odd, lol. It has everything else gxp (tap shift, hud, and a 5.3L v8, lol). The reason i got it so cheap if because it was a salvage title car got smashed in the back. I googled the vin and found pictures of it up for auction and i couldn't believe how well the work was done. I'll see if i can get it from sonicelectronix for cheap if not i have a gift card from best buy that i'll use and get it.

This harness works with systems with the Onstar, and NO amplifier. I have a 2003 GTP with no OnStar, but I have the amplified Bose system. What wiring harness would I need to retain all the beeps, and other functions of the original radio?

But the GMOS-01 harness doesn't work with the amplified system. Do you know which harness I would need that works with the amplified Bose system and lets me retain the steering wheel controls?

Take a look at this. I do believe you have to by something additional in order to keep steering wheel controls. I personally have this in my car only because it works with the GMOS-01.
