Has anyone done it or know of someone who has done it? I need more juice, 220 amps is not nearly enough.

uhm ive never heard of anyone doing a dually alt setup on a GP. Prolly would have to prolly fab it up. And with where the alt is you would prolly not have to much room to work with
Good god man. 2x the amps of a stock alt and its not enough, what are you trying to do?
Nobody to my knowledge has ever done a secondary alt on a Wbody. You might be able to do a custom bracket and put a secondary in place of the AC Compressor, otherwise it would be constructing a whole new bracket and running longer belts and a complete re-route.
haha i can kill my alt as it is, i need to find something bigger but tracking a decent alt for my car under 500$ isnt easy at all. But i do have a battery bank
My battery bank is getting an upgrade. I'm thinking dual 220s may be enough for a few minutes of demos, but I am aiming for the safe side and was hoping to get a dual kit. I wanted dual 300-350s but even single is hard enough to find.
I remember seeing someone carrying an oversized alt for the 3800... Can't remember where but do remember it was stupid expensive! Lol.. Glws!
Ill most likely just have to make do with what I have. Major battery bank upgrade and carry a charger with me to shows lol(or a set of jumper cables and charge off my trucks alt).
Mechman Alternators, High Output Alternators, Built in the USA, Call 1-888-MECHMAN!
if you haven't contacted mechman, you should email him and see what he can do.
why stop at two when u can go triple![]()
It would probably be cheaper to just send an alt to a motor (electric) shop and have the windings rewound to provide the power you'd like...
JTesk, sorry, but I left my Crystal Ball @ home, don't really know what he has other than Wbody... But doesn't matter.
Have you hit up Tenney Alts? I'm almost sure he can hook you up with at least a 270 for an awesome price.
