I don't see anything on my radio that looks like it has xm on it. it has the build in nav system with the radio. i don't have a picture but i can find one online if you need me too. since it doesn't have the xm feature, is an AUX port not looking like it's in the card for me?
Probably not. The adapter I used to add an auxiliary to my stock radio requires xm to be in vehicle. Check pac audios website out they have tons of adapters

You could just use and FM transmitter from best buy. It plugs into your cigarette lighter.
Griffin Technology - iTrip Auto Mobile FM Transmitter - Black/Silver - NA22049
i have two transmitters and they do suck a lot. in the city especially.. out of the city.. they are okay. im just looking for a better quality of sound where i don't want to worry about if the transmitter is in the right spot or if the station is okay. I bought an 80 dollar one and it's still a POS. i've been sticking to mp3 cds with it but that is just so much just really looking for an AUX i can just plug my iphone in to.
So did the 07 gxp not come with XML or anything

no it didn't.
thats the only picture i could find right now and i'm sure its not very helpful. i'll take one of it actually tomorrow. from my memory it has the options of: AM; FM1; FM2; CD; i believe. i will look tomorrow and put up a picture of what i got.
OK. Does urs have an external CD player or is it built into the main head unit

I'm guessing not external. the screen there, you see the eject button on the bottom of screen.. the screen will fold down and you will have a drive for your CD and a drive for your DVD (nav disc)
Hmmm...the only thing I can think of without changing head unit is pac audio. I'll do some quick searching see what I can come up with

Try this page. They have a couple different interface options.

It depends which one u get.

That one looks like it may be the best option for u I downloaded the install manual for it and it looks like it has an on off switch. I used one similar to that in my old truck and didn't have a problem with it. I can't guarantee it'll work but it looks like the best way. Instead of working like an FM transmitter this one actually turns off the FM signal with the little black box that comes with it then send the auxillary in audio to the radio. As far as the radio knows that is still the FM radio broadcast its receiving. I also know that the aai-gm12 will not work on it car since u don't have XM. Its what I use in my car.

I believe my AUX adapter is made by USA Spec. it states works only up to 05 Grand Prixs but this is patently false. it works fine in my 08 GXP Single CD w/Monsoon.
Yes...it typically helps to have XM capability. If your car is XM ready or has XM already installed you can install the USA Spec adapter in one of TWO ways.
1. XM piggyback. this connects inline with your XM box in the trunk or connects to the XM harness there if it exists. This allows Text on the HUD, steering wheel controls, and a couple other things.
2. CD Changer method. this involves installing it to the cd changer port on the back of the head unit.
It will work for both iPods and offers an RCA input as well.
USA Spec iPodĀ® Interface for GM Connects your iPod to select 2000-up GM factory radios at Crutchfield.com
Pain free. Only downside is the harnesses are BARELY long enough for the box that if you use the XM install method and stretch everything out you can get the adapter to the middle back of the trunk along the seat and this is ABSOLUTELY REQUIRED to get enough ipod cable up into your center console.
if you follow the crutchfield link and look on the page...you can view the instructions for the harness. it has 2 pictures inside the manual that are for NAV installs. if your NAV screen matches the looks of one of those it will work...and it's on sale 20 bucks off regular price right now. worth a shot. take a look.
random late night though. could there be a way to bypass everything go directly into the system not matter what..like if i turn on a switch i'll play what ever is on the AUX input regardless if its on FM..CD ..etc.... that make sense?
It makes since but if there is a way to do that I dunno how to
