    alright guys heres the deal

i have two 12's already hooked up to a hifonics brutus amp 1200watts no problem with that
head unit is pioneer avh1400dvd if it matters
subs TS-W304R - 12" Component Subwoofer with 1,300 Watts Max. Power | Pioneer Electronics USA (considering upgrading to these but i think thats irrelevant TS-W310S4 - <b>NEW!</b> - 12" Champion Series Subwoofer with Single 4 © Voice Coil | Pioneer Electronics USA)

amp Hifonics Brutus BRZ1200.1D BRZ 1200.1D Class D Car Amplifier/Amp

i want to upgrade my interior to new pioneer speakers with a small 4 ch pioneer amp but my questions are

how big of an amp can my 2005 base grand prix handle without new alternator and can i run a pair of 6.5 and 6x9 that have different RMS wattage off the same amp? so say one set has 35 a piece and the other set has 40 a piece can i do that?

ok alternator SHOULD be good as long as your biggest amp has a capacitor and yes you can run speakers with different rms's thats just their nominal power rating...

sorry i wasnt clear... install said second amp try it out and if your headlights dim then get a capacitor... a capacitor just takes stress off the alternator

if you're going with 4 speakers then id say 4 channel... but why dont you just use the head units amp??? itll handle a pretty decent speaker setup keeping in mind rms watts are all that really matters not peak, and it has more settings than a 4ch amp???

i was told a while ago that if you dont amp new speakers they can sometimes end up sounding worse than the stock speakers

i was thinking these 6.5s for the front
    http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...TS-A1674R.html

    and these 6x9's
    Pioneer TS-A6964R (TSA6964R) 400W 6" x 9" 3-Way Car Speaker

if i go with an amp i was thinking this 2ch one
    http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-GM-5500T.html

or this 4ch one (more expensive)
    Pioneer GM-6500F (GM6500F) 760W 4-Channel GM Car Amplifier

the two channel i would just wire the speakers so id halve the ohms and run off a 2 ohm load for each set of speakers

I use alpine type r myself..very happy. You don't have to amp the new speakers if you don't want to put it will sound better if you do and you'll have more control over them.

Do the Big 3 upgrade (use 4 gauge or 0 gauge wire is recommend, alternator to battery +, battery - to chassis ground, engine block to chassis and a extra battery + to underhood fuse box) I have a Alpine deck 3 RCA preouts (front, rear, subs) I got a 600 watt 4-ch Kenwood amp (50 watt rms x 4) connected to two 240 watt 3-way 6.5" Kenwood in front and two 270 watt 3-way 6x9 Pioneer in back, two 140 watt 2-way 4" Alpine type S connected to the stock Bose amp and two 1200 watt (600 watt rms) 12" Kenwood subs bridged and wired in series to a 1000 watt 2-ch Kenwood amp (500 watt rms bridged x 1) the two Kenwood amps are connected to a 2000 watt 2 farad capacitor my headlights/I.P. don't dim and it's loud/clear and deep bass. If you want to take a look Click my 2000 Grand Prix cardomain link below.

with it being cyber monday im finding really good deals but im trying to stay under $200 just want more sound for a little money. i think the cheapest route would be 2ch because its cheaper for install kits for 2ch rather than 4ch and two channel would be less speaker wire to use aswell thus saving more money, the two channel amp is also cheaper lol. but if you guys really insist on the 4ch ill go 4ch its not too terribly more expensive...

4 to the hifonics... i plan on just running two seperate cables from the battery since the ones already installed instead of splitting them

I would go with a 4-ch amp for the front/rears, mono block amp for the subs or 2-ch amp.

ive already got an amp for the subs i just need one for the new interior speakers, you think 4ch would be a lot better than 2ch? even though 2ch will save me a decent chunk of change?
