OK, so I wanna change out the gauge cluster in my 05, ive got plenty of clusters, but everything i swap in always giving me errors on the DIC about traction control, abs, stablity control etc.. I dont have those features.

When i put the current cluster back in, no messages.

So today i went to the JY and found an EXACT replica speedometer, numbers match etc.

So what gives? why would one speedometer work perfectly fine and another one start giving me errors.. 3 different speedometer cores and all give the same errors.

Here you can see my speedo internals.

Top is todays replica, bottom one that came in car.

The numbers in the long bar above DELPHI match , but the smaller ones above and to the right of that doesn't. dunno why..

    OK, thanks, Need info!!!

The only thing I can think of is that you're using the wrong communication style cluster.
Serial Bus was 04-05. Can Bus was 06-08.

yeah my car is odd, its more of an 06 than a 05... its one of those midway thru production 05s, so somestuff is 04 like, some is 06 like..

If it were not for the fact people want crazy dollars for them id just buy a speedo from a 08, but id wanna test it to make sure its what i need..

All this crap because wife wants to have a "working" speedometer in the car lol.. it technically works, just gives a few messages on the dic..

before anyone asks.. current speedo works fine, i just wanna mod it, and wife wants me to have a back up in the car incase things go wrong with current one. which i highly doubt.

How about the programming in the cluster. Sometimes some items have to be programmed to not turn on like the lights you have coming on.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

i really dont think you program a cluster though, mainly i think wiring faulty cluster. come on now this cars work on a 5v signal and range to what 6 volts max for all the comm.? thats my issue wiring. you got another gp to try that cluster out in? more equipped gp? still doubt the program of cluster

I might be able to convince my buddy with a GXP to let me take his dash apart LOL

i kinda doubt it tho.. I might just take and mod the one ive got in the car currently, put one of these other ones in there for the time being, then put my good one back in..
