Whats up guys, I have a 97 GTP and the key pad no longer works. It was working for me a little bit since I had the car but id have to press it a bunch of times and then it would work if I was close to the car like 5 feet or less. I thought it was just the battery I replaced that like 2 or 3 months ago and it didn't make a difference at all. Yesterday it just stopped working for me all together, I guess i need a new one. If going to the dealer is gonna be super expensive Ill try to avoid that. I work in a shop and my boss' son knows how to program them, he said that a while ago. I havent talked to him about it yet but I will. Where is the best place I can get one maybe eBay? Anyone have this problem before Im sure someone has. Give me some opinions/options on what I should do or what have you done if you had this problem.

    thanks,
    Eddie

By the way my key pad is just a basic unlock/lock with the trunk pop option no factory alarm.

I bought one for my 97 off ebay and used the program instructions from the owners manual. Its just that easy.

You have no red light that flashes ontop on the dash in the middle?

Either way, both of those will work.
