stock speakers are two way with a separate connection for each part

I recently replaced the drivers door speaker with a better quality Pioneer speaker and it made no difference. The problem I still have is the sound is much louder coming from the passenger door then it is from the drivers door. Solution is just adjust the balance setting farther to the left to even things out.

If I were you I would stick with the stock speakers unless they have blown then replace with another stock speaker. After market ones will not make a difference because you are still using the stock amplifier that is tuned for the stock speakers only. You need to replace the entire audio system to hear an improvement.

My question to you is was your original 6x9 speakers broken or you just not happy with the sound? If they were broken then replace with new stock speakers, but if it was just poor sound quality then I don't know what to suggest short of replacing everything.

You will be fine with removing the monsoon amp.

    What all did you get?

For that price on the box (140?) you could have gotten one built to custom specs locally.
You don't have a 4 channel amp to run your speakers and the Boss won't put out as much as the current HU....
Personally think you over paid for the 12 (SA-12 will do what you want) then again that's your choice.
if you didn't order it all yet id change a few things if not play with what ya got. Just know once you open the box its used and the value drops.

Sundown Audio 12 = SA12. You have no treble from the 6x9 because they are components. 2 way. Your monsoon amp has a built in crossover. You folks otta really do your research before you start swapping speakers.

Be careful putting that new speaker on the exisiting Monsoon wiring. Likely the Monsoon is 2ohm, and your new speaker probably isn't.

can't i just order a small 400watt 2channel amp for my speakers only since the monsoon won't power mine that i have now? and should i cancel my headunit you thinking or no? I've always thought you need a new hu before you start putting it all together??

Definately do that. Your first post said you swapped out the 6x9 and I wanted to warn you that if your new speaker went up in smoke..it was because you shouldn't hook up a 4ohm speaker to a 2ohm monsoon amp. Sounded like you did this temporarily until the parts arrive.

I'm no expert, probably the wrong guy to answer it. My understanding is the lower the ohm rating, somehow the higher the power. However that doesn't replace watts, which is largely how power is measured.

that amp that you bought is for Subwoofers, Nothing else.
Reason why you need a 4 Channel amp, your running 4 speakers each pair having different ratings, therefor you want one channel per speaker.

Per the Boss vs stock. Most aftermarket Hu's (~90%) won't put out the same power as the stock one due to the aftermarkets built in amp vs the stock. The reason why most people go for the aftermarket HU's is for the features IE ipod. The majority of big builds have a HU that has 3 Rca outputs (Front, Back, Subwoofer)

As far as the SA-12 goes, I've only owned RF once and I wasn't impressed. I've owned and listened to many a SA-12 on various power levels (200w to 4KW) they take alot of abuse before thinking about giving up. Also the SA-12 is cheaper, at less from what i've seen of the RF that you picked out.

For the box I've never heard a prefab i was happy with. Realistically building the box isn't all that hard just need someone to design it to your specs.
