I have a problem that whenever I step on the breaks or use my left turn signal the left signal is much dimmer then the right and third break lights. I am thinking it might be a ground issue but I do not really know where to start on this one. advice would be much appreciated.

Could be a bad turn signal switch, common problem in W- Body cars.

Bad turn signal switch can cause this problem also, I know it sounds funny but it is true.

the bulbs over time get a burnt look to the glass, its on the inside of the bulb. that could be why your are dim. pulse the bulbs just get old, and dont burn so bright.

when ever one burns out, i change both bulbs. i keep the good one for a spare if im caught with a dead one down the road.

the switch in on the other end of the stick you move to turn the blinkers on.

you need to take the plastic around the column off, un bolt it. un hook the harness under the dash, and then take the harness out, reverse for install.

make sure the one you get has all the same functions that you have, cruise, wipers, delay, or it wont work.

and this part is not cheap, used they run about 75.

I found another detail that Interests me. when I lock my car the lights are both bright on both sides. Could it still be the turn signal switch?
