so right now i have 1 alpine type r 12 in a 1.5 net cubic foot box tuned to 27hz. I have a hifonics 1000.1d amp that makes 750 at 2 ohm and 1000watts at 1 ohm. so now i want to buy another type r and run 500watts to each. could someone design a box for me that would fit in my 97 gtp?

Why? Ported they require 1.7 cubic ft. And sealed they require .85 cubic ft. You go too big and you're subs are gonna start farting.
