    You guys are awesome. Took me a while to find a thread like this. Thanks so much. This is good for both single and double din stereos correct? As i have a double din just sitting around.

    I would save yourself the trouble and just pick up the gmos-04. Retains everything, chimes, onstar, etc. Can be picked up on ebay for 45$. Also has a 12v switched source wire. Very easy install

    @des19
    so would it be different if used a gmos-1 instead of a gmos-4 since my car is not amplified?

    @2dee11
    Wow, that thing is nice. New Pioneer model? Does your unit still stay on until you open the door when you turn the car off? where did u get the 12 volt for switched power? Pic?

    i have a 2005 base model, so this could be a little different than yours. i used:
    this harness adapter Amazon.com: Metra 70-2003 Radio Wiring Harness For GM 98-Up Harness: Car Electronics
    with this antenna adapter http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o01_s00_i01
    with this dash kit http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o02_s00_i01
    aswell as a similar add a circuit from autozone (or loca autoparts store) like this one Cooper Bussmann/ATM fuse tap converts one into two fusible circuits - 10 Amps maximum on added circuit (BP-HHH-RP) | Fuse and Accessories | AutoZone.com
    i did end up losing my door chimes and onstar, but this was no problem for me because i hated the chimes and never used onstar...

    i got my switched power source using the add a circuit in the "sun roof" fuse on the passenger side fuse box (i dont not have a sun roof but all grand prix's have this so ive been told)

    closer view

    i just ran the wire hidden up under the dash to the head unit

    finished pics

    yes the radio does stay on until i open the door after i turn the car off. The model is the Pioneer AVH-P1400DVD

    I hate that they put the USB port in the front of the radio I think it looks cheap to have wires coming out IMO. I personally wouldn't spend that much on a unit that does that. But I'm glad u got everything working I will be installing a double din soon also

    The gmos 1 works the same way as the gmos 4 except the 1 is for non amplified gm vehicles. The gmos-01 will also just be a plug and play install very easy and retains everything except wheel controls. For this u need a separate adapter like a PAC module. gmos-01 is the way to go very easy install will definately save u a lot of headaches.

    @spac31 umm... i think it just depends. my add a circuit was capable up to 20A i think and i put it in the sun roof which is 20A so i put two 10A fuses in it

    THanx guys... Decided to go with the metra harness, (didn't really see the need for the on-star or warning chimes) and I managed to fix the whole parking brake thing.

    I was wondering if with the harness are you still able see you km you have driven, are you able to see Trip A and Trip B feature, and do you still get the warnings for oil changes and stuff? I wanna change the radio but i dont wanna lose the km feature, im not really worried about the calendar.
