so ive come to realize that some how the car knows there is no brights hooked up. my qeustion is the low beam back feeds on the bright side? if it does can i measure resistance in the bulb to determine wich resitor to use? or will this be a bigger issue. sry but i cant find diddley squat searching on this. and if this isnt correct place for this move please mods. thankyou guys in advance for any help

Do you have a harness installed with the HID's? They aren't getting enough voltage if the high beam indicator is on.

yes and i tried both its on regardless, and it will come on if i turn parking lights on. i may mention this is a single low beam kit so there is no contact to the high beam circuit.

Not sure if this applies to you but i had the same problem. When i purchased my hid kit (lows AND highs) i installed it myself. My high beam light on the dash was half showing up and i couldnt change from lows to highs and back. Turns out after lots of research 9007 hids (our lights) are the same kit used with 9004 kits because the harness was the same. The only thing that needs to be changed is on pin on the connector needs to be swapped with another. Its usually the center pin on the hid main harness that needs to be swapped with either the left or right pin. I found the right way to do mine by getting 3 loose pieces of wire and just sticking it in each harness changes the connections. Once if found the right set up i just pushed the pins out (easier said than done) swapped their positions and hooked it back up. Good to go

Curt, that wont work because the connector only has 2 wires in it, power and ground.

Alright, my connector had 3. It looked similar to this:

Except the other piece that connects to this is the side i swapped the pins. The side that comes with the hids. If im wrong, im wrong though! Just did mine last week.

ok well i get off early today and im willing to bet it has something to do with the lack of conection between the high and low side of the bulb, if you look at a bulb you can see that the filaments are on the same path so there has to be some resistance there, imma ohm out a light bulb and buy a resistor to see if i can do something for this community. i know tons of ppl would like to get rid of the damn light! espcially in the hud, the dim indicator is ok but it bright on my hud. but do any of you think that my idea is at least possible?

i tired that, i even put a resistor in place of the high beam bulb and that did work, the only way i saw to do something with the bulb itself and for that you would have to cut the holder that the bulb sits in.
but either way i hope you have better luck then i did, good luck

well did you measure resistance on the bulb? there gotta be a way, cause once you pull the bulbs the indicator acts wierd so, imma work a miracle after i lay my carpet today.

not on the bulb but i found almost 5v on the high beam side so i put a resistor in place of the bulb to take up that voltage. but it didnt like that
i hope you can figure it out i gave up after awhile, you will be loved for ever if you fix it lol..
