ok I thought it was my tranny making the noise but have since discovered it is the relay for my hid's it only does it in gear not in park. I replaced it and the new one still does it I have the wbody store heavy duty harness and it is wired direct to the battery using the headlight wire for a trigger any insight would be appreciated.

I would take a look and see what the input voltage triggering your relay is. I also would ask you if you took your DRL diode out or somehow disabled your DRL's. Does the issue still happen when you manually turn on the headlights or only until the headlights are switched "on". Trying to gather more info to help!

I did not disable my drl's I did use the wbody store heavy duty hid harness though. the issue goes away when I manually turn my headlights on or if I turn the auto headlight feature off.

Well there you go! So what is happening is when your DRLs are on its just enough voltage to trip your relay, but not enough to stay constant. This is going to be really really hard on your HID's so you should remove your DRL diode located inside the driver side door. This will turn off your DRL's and provide a constant 12+ voltage to your relay thus turning on your HID's on when your headlights are turned on or your auto headlights think its dark enough. I would do this asap because the constant on-off of your relay clicking is super hard on your HID's ballasts. Hope I helped!
