6x9s can produce what your looking for but you will always be wanting to try a sub.
getting a HU should be first, they can make a huge difference.
personally not that great on 6x9s i know a few good brands from the SQ guys but they are pricey, and those are Image Dynamics and Focal

personally i'm still running the stocks, only the front the back is all deadened. For stock i can't complain most people think its aftermarket (i've played with the HU alot)

Wouldn't it benefit me more to get some nice speakers in my car before a head unit? Right now my 2 back speakers play nothing, even when I fade to the rear. No sound at all. When we plugged in a different speaker it worked so the speakers are dead. My front speakers sound terrible especially the driver side speaker, I think that speaker is about to quit on me because it just sounds awful. Should I really get a head unit first if my speakers are this bad? I want to be able to listen to some music and getting a head unit first wouldn't really be helping me. I get paid next week which will be about $200-$250 and I know I either want to get a head unit or rear speakers but I think it would be better for me to get rear speakers so I have some speakers I can actually tolerate. My next paycheck would definitely go towards a head unit if I did get speakers first. I honestly don't know, what do you think?
