I havn't done a nice system in any of my cars in about 4 years. Certian brands were considered really good or good quality brands that were fairly new and a little pricey at the time. I just wanted some input on the quality of the brands since I havnt been involved in the scene in a while. MA audio and audiobahn were two such brands. I notice them selling products for a lot less than I expected and was wondering if they are still condidered a top name brand (or in the same class as kicker, mtx, JL and fosgate).

Other names I have seen at really nice prices are boss, soundstream, phoenix gold, hi fonics and precision power (PPI). Does anyone have any info on if some of thease names are good or garbage?

audiobahn is shiny, not much else, always have been a bottom row jensen type. I like soundstream, pheonix gold used to be great, but has been dilluted down by other companies buying and selling them, PPI is not bad, but again not the same company they used to be. Hi fonics are decent for the price (have their stuff in my bravada) powerbass is a good cheap brand, as is db drive, and fusion.

Thanks a lot bro. Any info on MA audio? I have always been a firm believer that you get what you pay for with electronics and when I see some of the low priced stuff I know most often its inferior quality and I hate to buy things twice.

I've had a polk setup for about a year now, i put them through ALOT and they still sound as good as the day i got them. I would recommend them.

Not sure what ur looking to buy but Elemental designs is a pretty good product for the price. Its an internet based product. Ive got a 15" from them and its more than enough base for me. I also have a Hi fonics amp powering it and its working great so far.
