i'd try and buy a remote off ebay for the car (I've done this) then open the owners manual and program it to the car. Its pretty easy to do.

It's the way it was locked. That set the alarm. You can lock it and then unlock it w/o having the alarm go off. That info should be in the owners manual.

then measure teh resistance in the chip in your key. And buy another one off Ebay. Have Walmart cut it (tell them to charge you like you bought the key there). Add in the two remotes you'll buy and program ....you'll have two sets of keys.
