Just a thought but I have a aftermarket head unit (POS Alpine) and with that in the dash it left maybe a mm of clearance for the monte carlo heater control between it and the ash tray. I also ended up cutting out the divider between the radio and the heater because it covered too much.
I also found out a 02 regal cab filter fits perfectly in a grand prix that has the holder for one but there are not any available...
