Alright so I got this cutout and 12volts dc and heres a pic of the wires coming from it.

its got some kind of connector which the guy didnt have the other end to so I was planning on chopping that off and soldering my wires to it.

Heres the part thats a little bit more tricky the switch has four wires coming from it.

and I heared that you can just use the cigerette lighter as your power source and ground is that true?

my other question is from the switch I have one red one black and a white and a green whats the deal with the white and green I assume the with is the ground correct? I guess what I don't get is I know I need two wires coming into the switch with power and then I need two wires going out or possibly one wire going out and the other already going too the cutout and then the switch would complete the circuit.

I haven't done anything like this in awhile so if someone could help make sense of this for me that would be awesome

One common ground, one to open, and one to close? Hook it to a battery and see what it does.

What brand of cutout is it? It's not just an on/off kind of thing its a open/close action.
