2002 GP SE.

Got it last year with 80,000 miles on it.

Took out the stock head unit and installed a Sony Head unit. This was in May of last year.

I was listening to music on the way home from work, my head unit just dies. The fuse in the glove box is fine. The fuse on the back of the Sony head unit was fine.

I installed the old AC Delco head unit. The unit receives illumination but will not power on. No display on the head unit's display. Just the orange back light under the buttons and in the CD tray.

I've looked on the internet and I have seen several issues regarding a factory lockout and security issues. Doesn't make sense that my Sony head unit works fine for almost a year and then dies. Makes even less sense that the old factory head unit won't work.

I smelled nothing burning, what is going on? I swear if this is a GM electronics thing I am officially done purchasing anything related to GM from this moment forward.

Can anyone give me any ideas here? There is obviously no power going to the unit.
