Abolutely LOVE Kenwood head units, I used to only use Sony until I put a $150 Kenwood in my camaro. It blew my $400 Sony out of the water... You will def not be disappointed...
I've given up on ipods.
I want to run a USB powered hard drive in my car instead.
The Alpine updates instantly due to it's connection. The only lag that might be present is due to the iPod itself. Either way, I've been wanting to try the Kenwood x794 or x994 but I have a hard time getting past the looks and function of my Alpine 9887. I really don't see how much of an upgrade it will really be.

all you have to do with the crutchfield plate is take off the plastic protrusion and the receiver will sit flush. you have to cut out a piece of the subframe or whatever directly behind the receiver's location so the receiver can sit that far back.
