Edit: Addition at the bottom.
Sooooo... I guess I should give some background first. I got a used 05 Grand Prix (silver) a few months ago and she's had no problems besides the stock head unit being scuffed up and a broken CD player. So I just recently ordered this from Crutchfield (a little overpriced, but the adapter was $50 off so it broke around even): Kenwood KDC-HD545U CD receiver at Crutchfield.com
So I installed that today, along with the GM adapter and everything works wonderfully. So I decided I'd try out a song through USB to test sound quality and see how the bass sounds coming out of the 6x9's.
Well, for one thing, they honestly seem to put out less (albeit lower in Hz) bass than the front door speakers... Oh well, I faded to the back two steps and it sounds pretty even now, I'll just blame stock speakers.
To test them a bit, I played this: YouTube - Sub focus - last jungle
I noticed that my back right 6x9 rattles with loud bass, like, not "over exerting the HU" rattle, or "my car" rattle, the speaker itself rattles, while the left one doesn't... However, it still reproduces music perfectly, highs and lows, so it isn't distortion, it honestly sounds like a part of the cone or something is hitting the grill...
Does this sound like something fixable? I could probably take the speakers out tomorrow or Thursday to look at the right one. I just don't have extra money to spend on new 6x9's, because if I get new ones, they're going to be nice... and expensive.
So to sum it up, does this rattle sound like something I can remedy? I know for sure it isn't the signal or the car itself, it's the speaker.
Thanks for any help
Addition: Ok, so, I had an idea for how to make my stock 6x9's louder after I fix the rattling one. Does anyone here think that it would be possible to make an enclosure for the 6x9's that could just sit under (attatched to) the rear deck, so they'd be in the same place and the enclosure would be in the trunk. And would this be worth it if I went ported? Because I'm pretty sure sealed would just make them quieter (even though it'd probably be easier to make).
