Hey guys and gals, was wondering about my radio reception in my 07 gp. The last car i had had great reception all over town. The gp has great reception when there is reception. It comes and goes around town. Is it normal as i have th esmall antenna on the roof, can i check anything to make sure everything is connected properly?

The antenna is in the rear windshield. The antenna on the roof is for OnStar.

I get really good reception in my 06 GP. No complaints.

I will mention that the type of antenna used in the rear windshield is a folded dipole and can be very directional. I've yet to see any problems with it being directional though.

well, today I had a plan. I was going to check out this amp thing in my roof, I was thinking it was a fairly big thing but it turn out it is just a tiny little box. Anyway I found it is small, but the plan I had was to make a connection with a wire from the window plug to the receiver. The first thing that popped out when I lowered the rear of the headliner was the receptacle/plug that pops on the window plug and now I have am reception and my fm works great. Easiest repair I have done by far lol

Do you guys have tints? I have an 05 with terrible reception, and AM has lots of interference from other car functions like the wipers or the rear window defroster. I read in the manual that tints can contain metal and cause problems. I assume that is my problem as I have an aftermarket tint. Maybe I should pull down the headliner and check that this box is plugged in? I do get radio reception, but a lot of stations fuzz out after about 30 or 40 kms. All my other cars keep good reception.
