SMD = YouTube - Celph Titled - S.M.D.
WOOP WOOP.
but for real.
thats not news at all...
Even erectile disfucntion audio knows that and has a video on it doing the same ****.
And no... your MM can't do that unless you spent an ton of money on it.
Certainly....but we all need to be spoon fed at timesAt least they'll be able to "perceive" clipping now that it's somewhat explained. But that means we need to realize that your input voltage = amplitude. Too much amplitude can instigate square sine waves which could result in inadvertant "burps". If you didn't design your system for that type of abuse then be ready to buy new speakers.
I decided to post this since majority of people are clipping their subs and wonder why they're burning up their hardware. Bottom line/point to this thread....A GAIN KNOB ISN'T A VOLUME KNOB!!!!!! The other problem people have is loading their amp incorrectly. Most amps can't bridge and run 1ohm!!! Anyways, that's another thread.
So.... I set my gain by ear. I've clipped my sub with EQ before thoughThat was fixed real quick
I didn't realize my amps EQ was turned all the way up. But if you understand how your hardware works you don't necessarily need a $500 o-scope to set your gain.
My amp is awesome... remote gain knob ftw.
I can clip my sub but man its already stupidly loud by that point that most people can't tell the difference worth a damn.
And that sub takes the abuse like its the only thing it was built for haha.
lol yup most ppl don't understand it
oh and matt my old PA 5500 did 2400 at 1ohm solo... guy is running it on .25 daily haha
Holy **** man.... Thats insane.
