Lanzar makes really good speakers for a good price. Audio-warehouse.com has them really cheap as well as many other brands and they deliver in around 2-5 days.

    Np man, glad to help!

if you really wanna make it look cool, cut out the stock grill on the door, and place the grill that comes with alpine over the hole, and use longer screws to hold it in, it looks sick! I spray painted mine with chrome paint and you get this ;]

Have a quick question...I've had a set JBL GTO527 coaxial speakers sitting in my room for a couple months, never installed them cuz my buddie said they wouldnt work because I'm trying to install a coaxial into a component speaker configuration.

Is he right... if not, would they wire right in...Thanks

ps...I dont care if the speakers are sh*t, just wondering if coaxials can be wires up

    Your buddy is a tool

The tweets hook up in parallel to the mids in the door.

Just dont connect the factory tweeter and plug the new speakers up to the wire that goes into the mid from the inside of the car, not to the tweeter and it'll be just fine.

    Again, excuse my audio noobness.

that looks a little dark for chrome paint, more like a gun metal. Either way I'm honestly going to do EXACTLY that with mine, it looks sick!

YES!!! omfg yes, srry but you have no idea how long ive been looking to see if someone has put after market grills on the door panels. Okay im definetly going to put the Polk audio grills on in place of the old grills, especially since the bose will be gone since im pulling the amplifier and either pulling or covering the factory wires with hushmat since they will be disconnected or turned off anyway. As for ideas on speakers edagimo it looks like you went shopping at best buy. All good parts even though I don't like how kickers look.

good thread... and def. doing that with the covers of whichever speaker i get (probably Sonys) but did you do the 6.5" speaker upgrade to get the bigger cover to fit or will just a 5.25" cover work???

There's been many successful installs where tweeters were part of kick panels but the image and sound is in the windshield. Science can really screw up perceptions in a big way sometimes. It's all about the methods used with your install.

I installed Alpine 6.5" component speakers in the doors of my last GP, took a bit more work than 5.25" speakers, but oh wow is it worth it.
Right now my GTP just has 5.25" rockford fosgates in the doors, they work alright.. but I think 6.5" are somewhere in the future.
