Has anyone installed one of these CleenSweeps? I have a 2005 GTP, and am interested in any info and/or pictures of one of these installed. They seem easy enough to install but I'd like to if possible get everything in the trunk.

My planned install items for the ultimate in Sound Quality are:

    JL Audio CleanSweep
Orion HCCA 275G4 pushing 3 ten inch Diamond Audio MachDaddy's
Orion HCCA 225G4 pushing 4 TBD 6.5 inch mids and tweets (any suggestions for pure SQ?)

What would be perfect if I could get the CleanSweep, both amps, and all 3 subs in the trunk. I know that the CleanSweep taps in to the speaker wire to reproduce the signal to the amps, but that still leaves power and remote. Power would still have to come from under the hood, but is there a remote to tap into so I can just have my 4 Gauge power supply going to the trunk? Where is the best place to run the power? Through the Firewall > under plastic door molding?

    JL clean sweep?...send it back

If you're THAT much into quality...look into the JBL MS-8 and Audison BitOne.1

Speakers...hrmmm. Sound = 10% purchase and 90% install. If you're really worried about the quality of your speakers you'll end up learning how to understand the t/s parameters so you can install them correctly. If you're THAT into it I'd probably tell you to purchase some seas, peerless, dayton, or some other raw speaker driver. People seem to have lots to say about Usher these days too. Anyways, you get back much more for your dollar bill that way. Most "SQ" installs don't use passive cross overs either. Each speaker location can easily determine a different/better cross over point to utilize with the surrounding environment. Then your next question is, can your speakers handle those requirements? Sometimes you have to hear the speaker to determine whether or not you like it too.

    I would recommend this...

JBL MS-8 (cheesey intro) -- should make tuning easy for you.
    http://ms8.jbl.com/

    a/d/s/ 346is component set from ebay. ~$250
The only reason I recommend these is because it's easier for me to tell you how to install Matt will disagree entirely However, I've been able to achieve a nice centered stage with minimal install effort. Remember, the more you put into your install the easier it is for speakers to reach their potential. If you're not familiar with a/d/s/...they owned Orion and PPI. Their px/a series was kind of nice but probably broke their back Their parent company was braun.

    TC Sounds 12" LMS-R -- subwoofers.
I recommend these just because they look like they're kind of bad ass and I want somebody to test them Matt approves of some variation of these...

Wow the JBL MS-8 is deffinatly better, and the LCD 31-band EQ makes it very tempting. Hopefully can find it for less than $800 though. I'm not looking to replace my Diamond Audio MachDaddy's. They might not be the best anymore, but they have been hitting for me years. Plus they are already in a great box and wired for 2-Ohm load on the Orion 275G4.

I'd like to use stock speaker location (2005 GTP) 1 6.5 inch and 1 tweeter in each front door, and 2 6.5 inch in the back dash. So what your saying is location isn't so imporant if i have each speaker at a different/better cross over point? The front door speakers are on the same horrizon about a foot apart.

Thanks for all the help too btw.

    *shudder*

I guess you're doomed to forever play with it never being totally satisfied haha.

    Install = win

DSP = neither win nor fail.

So which path will you take?

and for the love of all that sounds good.... please create proper enclosures for any speaker with an open basket.... Your doors will rattle at you every time someone even hits a snare drum let alone some floor toms or if you dare... a timpani.

Those subs you picked are beyond weak.

When it comes to below 40-50 Hz, displacement is king.

85 dB at 1 W @ 1 M is weak considering the low Xmax. Gotta have one or the other, cant have neither else you're wasting your money on both the sub and the amp instead of just one.

TC Sounds LMS Ultra 5400 18" DVC Subwoofer | Parts-Express.com

    Thats the one I want...

And guess who bought up all the stock since the price lowered.... See AVSforum.com for a preview haha.

    Location always matters...

Matt. I can definitely say that crossing higher, HP~125hz @12db slope, and modifying the stock "baffle" fixed a lot of problems with my install. Stock doors actually don't do bad with my 1" tweeters crossed in the upper midrange mounted in A pillars. My stage height is just above my dash in most cases unless I get a guy with a real low voice.

There's always a compromise But the DSP for rear fill REALLY helps zero in on my front stage install compromise. I used time alignment and bandpassed the rear speakers for mid-range only. I attenuated the right rear a bit higher than left rear and you can literally "see" my stage move across the dash when I made those adjustments. I really don't see how to mitigate install problems without DSP when trying to keep your setup low key. I just really don't like advertising what I have and what it does. The only prominence is my 9887 and the tweeters in the A pillars which don't really scream "bad ass" in any way. The key to a compromised install is using reflections.

In case anybody else has questions about sub installation, driver choice/displacement...it will raise some questions that might help you move towards an application that fits your needs better.

about all I can find for miniDSP data sheet. I've heard they're VERY open and quick to respond to customer requests.

48 kHz sampling rate is kinda weak but how much do they run for?

Edit: I see you said 10, but i think you meant 100

Nope...I meant what I said. $100 for hardware and $10 for the software modules. I gave you the link to read over matt

Hardware: We only need the $100 options. But you can add as many that it takes to make you happy.
